Stolen Children, Stolen Lives

Gerry O’Sullivan directed, filmed and produced ‘Stolen Children, Stolen Lives’. This is film is about the detention, imprisonment and abuses of Palestinian children, aged 9 – 15.

Gerry has volunteered in Hebron in the Palestinian West Bank since 2010 with both the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI) and Christian Peacemakers Teams (CPT).

The focus of this work is the accompaniment of Palestinians and Israelis in their non-violent actions and concerted advocacy efforts to end the occupation. Participants of both programmes monitor and report violations of human rights and international humanitarian law, support acts of non-violent resistance alongside local Christian and Muslim Palestinians and Israeli peace activists and offer protection through non-violent presence and engage in public policy advocacy.

Gerry also worked with other organisations in Palestine, delivering mediation training, mediation services and facilitation work

Public Policy Advocacy Work

Gerry has engaged in political advocacy work at both EU Parliament and EU Commission level, as well as at Irish Governmental level.

Gerry presented as a witness to the Joint Oireachtas (Government) Committee on European Affairs on the 27th July 2010 regarding the arrests and torture of Palestinian children.
